Look at these sentences and the words in red:

 

He's a better player by far than me.

I honestly don't know what you mean.

I badly needed to talk to him.

I simply don't accept this excuse.

He ignored me completely.

I quite forgot.

I entirely agree with you.

I absolutely refuse to travel by train.

I want to do this a great deal.

He actually told her in public.

 

Can you put these words into three groups?
Words that emphasize - these make a statement stronger.
Words that maximize - these show the top of the scale.
Words that intensify - these show a high point in a scale.
